Alcohol in your Body

When you consume an alcoholic beverage, approximately 20 % of the alcohol is absorbed in your stomach and the remaining 80 $ is absorbed in your small intestine.

Alcohol is absorbption depends upon the following:

* The concentration of alcohol in your beverage. This means that the greater the concentration, the faster the absorption.
* The type of drink . Carbonated beverages tend to speed up the absorption of alcohol.
* Whether your stomach is full or empty because food slows down alcohol absorption.

Alcohol enters your bloodstream and dissolves in your blood. Your blood carries the alcohol throughout your body. It then dissolves in the inside each tissue of your body except for your fat tissue .

Your blood alcohol concentration (BAC) can rise significantly within 20 minutes after having a drink.

Muscle tissue has more water than fat tissue. This means that a person with more fat will feel the effects of alcohol faster than a person with more muscle.
