In January the p.i.n.k. Spirits Company launched the world’s first, ultra-premium imported Rum, Tequila, Gin, White Whiskey, and Sake all of which are infused with flavorless caffeine and guarana. Now they will launch p.i.n.k. vodka in Australia.
The company says that there are no added sugar, color, carbohydrates, or preservatives, the p.i.n.k. spirits brands can be enjoyed straight or used to create any cocktail. Be it a p.i.n.k. Margarita, a p.i.n.k. Mojito, p.i.n.k. Manhattan, or a p.i.n.k. Gin Fizz, consumers can now - - for the first time - - enjoy all of their favorite cocktails, while experiencing the benefits of caffeine and guarana.
“We created a completely new category of spirits with the launch of p.i.n.k. vodka. As a result of its tremendous success we’ve created the entire portfolio,” said David Mandell, President & CEO of The p.i.n.k. Spirits Company. “Our new spirits are truly versatile with universal appeal.”
In Australia Health authorities have warned p.i.n.k. - to be launched in Australia this month - may encourage dangerous levels of underage drinking.
The Government has threatened action against companies that mix alcohol and stimulants.
But the infused spirit, which has an alcohol percentage of 40 and advertising campaign boasting "no added sugar, colour or carbohydrates", has health officials worried.
The Australian Public Health Association president was concerned about the vodka and stimulant mix.
"This looks like the kind of artificial product designed to attract young people to drink and get them drunk as quickly as possible," he said.
Adding stimulants and suppressants in the one product has a very mixed impact on people which is why they have raised some concern.
But p.i.n.k. Spirits Co president David Mandel said young drinkers were not the target.
"Our products are marketed responsibly and are not overly caffeinated," he said.
