* 13,530 of the total 15,626 crashes were designated as alcohol-related because a driver had a positive BAC.

* 11,581 of the total 15,626 crashes were designated as alcohol-related because a driver had a BAC of .08 or above.

* 1,626 of the total 15,626 crashes were designated as alcohol-related because a nonoccupant (pedestrian or bicyclist) had a positive BAC.

* 1,461 of the total 15,626 crashes were designated as alcohol-related because a nonoccupant (pedestrian or bicyclist) had a BAC of .08 or above.

* 434 of the total 15,626 crashes were designated as alcohol-related because both a driver and a nonoccupant (pedestrian or bicyclist) had a positive BAC.

* 423 of the total 15,626 crashes were designated as alcohol-related because both a driver and a nonoccupant (pedestrian or bicyclist) had a BAC of .08 or above.

* No crashes were designated alcohol-related if only a passenger had positive BAC.

* Note that the above numbers add to 15,590 rather than 15,626 because the specific roles of participants in 36 alcohol-related crashes could not be identified.
